Trailer Sailor Trip to Barker’s Island Marina – Superior/Duluth

 

         

 

Date:   Saturday and Sunday, August 15-16^th

            Capt’s meeting both days at 9:00 for crew assignments

            Set sail by 10:00 a.m.

            You can return to port for lunch-or make and take along-the crew decides

            Bring your own beverages

 

Boats and skippers to be determined – you DO NOT need to own a boat for this trip!

 

We are planning to copy cat all those successful Pepin trips and explore a new location too!

 

Cost:   $50 – includes 2 days sandwich fixins and BBQ picnic on Saturday at the marina

            Payment in full is due at sign-up

 

Barkers Island Marina has a clubhouse for our use, bathrooms and showers (nice).  There is a picnic area with available grills on site.

 

Here’s a chance to sail the big lake without the long drive.  Around the marina is a very large protected area to sail if the weather is too rough!  Plus, the Duluth-Superior area has a lot to offer if a little off-water time is desired!  The S.S. Meteor Whaleback Ship museum is right next door!

 

Friday or Saturday night lodging can be reserved at Barker’s Island Inn – this should be done ASAP as this is a popular place. 

Rooms are generally $100-$150 per night and can be shared by 4 people.
