NLSC 2010 Green Lake Trip
Green Lake at Spicer, MN is the destination for a NLSC trailer trip July 15 and 16, 2010.
Green Lake is a large lake of 5560 acres roughly four miles in diameter. It is a maximum depth of 110 feet and has good water clarity with a sand bottom. We will share the lake on the trip weekend with the Bald Eagle Yacht Club who are holding their catamaran regatta there and about 30 cats will be racing on this weekend adding to the color.
The trip is headquartered at Spicer Castle Inn and will begin with a Spicer Castle buffet breakfast at 9:00 AM. Spicer Castle was built by John Spicer in 1895 and has an enclosed porch overlooking the lake with a pleasant dining room and living room and sixteen bedrooms on the estate. Spicer Castle offers on Friday and Saturday nights a gourmet five course dinner that includes participation in a solving a Murder Mystery. Separate reservations are required for all Spicer Castle events except for the buffet breakfast Saturday morning.
The trip is filled with 26 reservations. There are five boats arranged and more are being sought. A waiting list has been established - contact the Trip Leader to sign up.
