Many of our members prefer to organize and run their own trips and, while the NLSC disclaims responsibility for these trips, we encourage our members to contact the trip leaders and join any trips they might be interested in.

These trips range in duration from one day on up to several, and take place on lakes within a few hours drive from the Twin Cities (at most). Overnight trips often include lodging arrangements, from camping to condos to casinos.

The planning and execution of these trips is all handled by volunteers (to keep the costs manageable) - please contact the Trip Leader or NLSC Trip Coordinator if you would like to help. Don't worry: Experienced sailors will help you organize and execute these trips - a great way to pick up sailing organizational skills and experience.

And, of course, our experienced sailors will teach you what they know, and you will be expected to participate in all of the fun, pleasures and chores of sailing. (These trips generally are not cruises where you just sit back and enjoy the ride.)
